Heavens Gain Is Our Loss…….
Bob Jolley (Buren Lee), 86, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 7, 2017 from complications of a stroke that he had on July 24, 2017. He was born June 29, 1931 in Shelby, N.C. to the late Robert and Lorena Jolley.
Bob loved life and lived it to the fullest. He was a gifted athlete and in 1949 signed with a professional baseball team–RC Owls. This was short–lived due to the Korean War. Fortunately, while proudly serving his country in the Navy, he was able to play baseball and serve as manager of a football team.
In 1955, Bob moved to Aiken, S.C., to work for DuPont (Savannah River Site). His entire career was spent as an analyst in the various Labs at the site. He retired with 40 years of service.
He had a passion for golf and he was known in the area as an excellent left handed golfer, winning numerous tournaments throughout the state. He loved all golf courses but his home away from home was the golf course at Cedar Creek. He cherished the friendships that he made over the many years and took pride in knowing all the members.
In addition to his loving wife, Holly Kearse–Jolley, Bob is survived by his son Rick (Sandy) Jolley and his daughter Pam Gilbert. Grandchildren; Jason (AnnLee) Gilbert, Heather (Clint) Walker, Amanda (Brian) Taylor, and Patrick Jolley. Greatgrandchildren; Savannah Gilbert, Aidan and Brynn Walker, and Presley Taylor. Sisters; Ailleen Harrington and Patsy Harmon. Mother-in-law, Nellie Kearse, brothers and sister-in-laws, James and Janie Kearse, Kenny and Phylis Kearse and Yvonne Snider. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Demmis Jolley, sister and brother-in-law Elizabeth and Stan Nabow, brother-in-laws Max Harrington, Tal Harmon, and David Snider and nephew Jodi Kearse and neice Tami Osborne.
A private celebration of Bob’s life will be held at a later date.
Memorials can be made to the Healing Springs Baptist Church Restoration Fund, P.O. Box 394 Barnwell, S.C. 29812.
A tremendous thanks to all the employees, residents and their families at Pruitt Health in Barnwell for their extraordinary care, support, and love.
Till we meet again Bob Jolley…….

"This life will be good and beautiful, but not without heartbreak. In death comes peace, but thats the cost of living. Like love, it's how we know we are alive. Peace exist, it's in everything we hold dear. That's the promise of heaven, after a long life, we find each other again."

Bob -- How dare you leaving us. You helped make CC a place everyone enjoyed because of you just being there on the course. ALL of us Cedar Creekers will always remember your cheerful personality and warm smile. I have no doubt that St Pete met you at the "Golden Gate", with a full bag (at least 11 clubs) and inform you that the Heavenly Coarse is open and OUR LORD is on the FIRST TEE waiting for you. "GOD IS WITH YOU BOB !! " Holly - Kathy and are here for you, IF need any help. Art
