Faye Evans McAlister



Funeral services for Faye Evans McAlister, 87, of Williston, SC will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, December 2, 2017 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston, SC with the Reverend Floyd Dukes officiating. Burial will be at The Williston Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home. Mrs. McAlister passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2017.

Born in Scranton, S.C. she was a daughter of the late General M. “Bub” Evans and Nellie McKnight Evans. Faye and Lonnie married in 1947 and moved to Williston in 1961, they opened the Blossom Shop; Faye had a love for flowers and enjoyed arranging flowers that brightened everyone’s day; in 1995 they opened Faye’s Jewelry and Gifts, she always enjoyed spending time with people and making sure they were dressed with beautiful jewelry. She was a member of the Williston First Baptist Church and the Ackerman Chapter #198 Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law Lonnie Emory, Jr. and Glenda McAlister of Lexington; grandchildren Roger Dale, Jr. (Stephany) Steverson, of Lexington, Amber Steverson (Chris Risinger) of Columbia, Allana (Lee) Strickland of Guyton, GA., Christopher (Jessica) McAlister of Lexington, Jennifer (Wesley) Backman of Lexington, Cary (Kristen) McAlister of Boise, ID.; great-grandchildren Chloe, Aiden, Clayton, Lauren, Tyler, Noah, Oliviah and Ryder; sister Dorothy Mae Evans Kelly of Scranton, SC; sisters-in-law Margie M. Cook of Goose Creek, Lib McAlister of Williston and Ruby McAlister of Darlington, SC; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years Lonnie Emory McAlister, Sr.; daughter and son-in-law Marie and Roger Steverson, Sr.; sisters Mary Elizabeth Evans Ard, Ruby Evans Matthews; brothers Marion Evans, Leon “L.J.” Evans and Charles “Bossy” Evans.
