Frances Grady Woodward



Funeral services for Frances Grady “Granny” Woodward, 79, ­­ of Williston, SC will be held three p.m., Tuesday, May 22, 2018 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston with the Reverend Dan Fogle officiating; burial will be in the Williston Cemetery. The family will receive friends from one-thirty pm until the time of service at the funeral home on Tuesday. Memorials may be made to Rosemary Baptist Church Children’s Fund, P.O. Box 409, Williston, SC 29853 or to the Williston Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 367, Williston, SC 29853. Frances passed away Saturday, May 19, 2018 at her home.

Born in Adams Run, S.C. she was a daughter of the late Louis D. Grady, Jr. and Leila Johnson Grady. She was a member of Rosemary Baptist Church where she served as Sunday School teacher, Children’s Church leader, WMU Missions Director, other Committee’s in the church and the Food Bank that served many in the community. She worked outside the home for several years until opening a daycare in her home where she helped many parents from the Williston area to raise their children. After retiring from childcare she received her degree in Human Services working with County Services as a child Arbitrator Ad Litem. She worked part time with H&R block until she had to stay home to take care of her father. Her passion and hobbies were her grandchildren, gardening and councilor to ALL. She worked as a volunteer for Trinity Hospice.
Survivors include her daughters, Sharon (Joey) Bechtold, Lynn (Brad) Chevier; son, Charles “Chuck” (Judy) Woodward all of Williston; grandchildren, Dawn Berry, Tony (Bobbie Jean) Flowers, Dallas Flowers, Crystal (David) Jeffers, Amber (Chris) Uzpurvis, Celia Elise (Tony) Bolen, Hannah Lynn (Jason) Wheeler, Mallory Ann Woodward, Judith Alaina (Jesse) Good, Courtney Irene (Riley) Strickland, Elbert Cone “Trey” Woodward, III; 17 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; sister, Marie G.(Melvyn) Boylston of Aiken; brother, Vernon F. “Pete” (Nina) Grady of Williston; sisters-in-law Betty Still of Barnwell, Pat Jayroe of Williston; a number of nieces and nephews and a loving caregiver, Nina Cable.
She was preceded in death by her husband Elbert Cone Woodward Sr. and a son, Elbert Cone “Rusty” Woodward, Jr.
