Bill Temples



Funeral services for William Lamar “Bill” Temples, 84, of Springfield, SC will be held two o’clock p.m., Wednesday, May 16, 2018 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel; burial will be in the Springfield Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be given to Medical Services of America, 186 Fabian Drive, Aiken, SC 29803. Bill passed away at his home on Sunday, May 13, 2018.

Born in Graniteville, SC, he was the son of the late Shaw Temples and Ella Jeffers Temples; he was first married to the late Joyce Mullins Temples and was the widower of Diane Pender Temples. He was a graduate of Ridge Spring-Monetta High School; served on the Springfield Town Council as the Police Commissioner, worked for E. I. DuPont at the Savannah River Plant, was a superintendent for Fluro Daniels Construction Company, and retired as a self-employed contractor. He was a U. S. Army Veteran having served during the Korean Conflict.

Survivors include sons Billy Temples of Newberry, SC, Jeff (Traci) Temples of Ninety-Six, SC; daughters Cindi (Clint) Crowder of Ninety Six, SC, Kathy Hutto of Springfield, Roxane (Kurt) Richardson of Lexington; grandchildren Matthew Richardson, Hannah Richardson, Vince Reed, Ami Temples Abigail Temples, Kristen Crowder, J. C. (Kathleen) Crowder, Brandi Allen, Trevor Temples, Brandon (Kayla) Temples, Anthony Braswell, Jr.; great grandchildren Aubrey, Ava, Shelby, Lillian, Wilson and Kaden. The family would like to extend their grateful appreciation to Bill’s dear friends Alene Hudson and Terry Logan for all of the love, care and compassion shown to Bill during his illness. Bill’s family would also like to thank the MSA hospice group, Aiken, SC for caring for Bill.
