Obituary

A Graveside funeral service for Frances Etrulia Fulmer Bolen, 90, of Williston, SC will be held two o’clock p.m., Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at the Williston Cemetery with the Reverend Floyd Dukes, Reverend Tom Baker and Crystal Baker officiating; the family will receive friends after the service at the cemetery. Frances passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, March 17, 2018.

Born in the New Holland Community of Aiken County, SC, she was a daughter of the late Horace Fulmer and Bessie Cook Fulmer. She married Eugene Edward Bolen on December 15, 1946 and was his loving wife for 67 years until his passing on January 15, 2014. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Williston and Ruth Bible Sunday School Class, WMU Group, a GA leader and a long-time secretary in the children’s Sunday School department. She was a member of the Magnolia Garden Club for many years. In the 1940’s, she worked at Cone’s Drug Store. Frances enjoyed tending to the Tennessee Walking Horses, living on the family farm, working in her yard and spending time at her cabin at Lake Murray. She loved traveling with Eugene and local friends on Christian Tours. She was Eugene’s devoted wife helping during the years when he and his brothers had Bolen Brother’s Red & White Supermarket.

Survivors include her daughter Marisa B. Schumpert (son-in-law, the late Jay Schumpert), a son Eugene “Gene” Bolen, Jr. and his wife Kerri; grandchildren Bryane S. (George) Washburn, LaNita Bolen, Jarrett Schumpert, Cullen (Kristen) Bolen; great grandchildren Christian and Lansley Macgargle, Isabella and Gabriel Washburn and Ryland Bolen and a brother Marion Wilbur Fulmer.

She was preceded in death by sisters Mildred Giet, Lila Ruth Busby; brothers Elton Fulmer, Harvey Fulmer and Adolphus Fulmer.
