Thelma Blackmon



Funeral services for Thelma Widener Blackmon, 85, of Windsor, SC will be held two o’clock p.m., Saturday, November 11, 2017 in the First Baptist Church of Windsor with burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from six to eight p.m., at Folk Funeral Home, Williston, SC. Mrs. Thelma passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2017.

The Casket will be placed in the church at one o'clock on Saturday. Pallbearers will be Rick Baker, James Barron, Michael Franklin, Philip Jenkins, Luke Jolley, and Frank Mizell.

Born in Aiken County, SC, she was a daughter of the late Earl H. Widener and Mattie Lou Barron Widener and was married to the late Joseph Lee “Jake” Blackmon, Jr. for 58 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Windsor, previously worked as a telephone operator for Southern Bell and was a homemaker.

Survivors include her daughter Debbie Maddox of New Ellenton; her son Michael “Mike” Blackmon of Aiken; sister Margie W. (Gerald) Storey of Aiken; grandchildren Eric (Tab) Maddox, Kasey (Michael) Franklin, Leanne (Luke) Jolley, and Joshua Blackmon; great grandchildren Alan, Dylan, Kaylee, Gracie, Payton, Ethan, Mya, River and Ryan; a niece Robin Sullivan and a nephew-in-law Rick Baker.

She was preceded in death by a son Mark A. Blackmon, a niece Karen Baker, a son-in-law William Maddox and a grandson Mark Andrew Blackmon, Jr.
